On December 23, boxing fans will be in for a holiday feast as heavyweight bouts Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin and Deontay Wilder vs Joseph Parker headline a rare quality bill. Given the moniker “Day of Reckoning,”
When Anthony Joshua fights Otto Wallin next month, he will keep trying to reclaim the heavyweight world titles. In Saudi Arabia, AJ will fight Swedish heavyweight Wallin on the same night that rival Deontay Wilder takes on Joseph Parker.
Joshua is set to compete in his third fight in 2023, making this his most active year in seven. He has already engaged in two fights this year.
The 34-year-old is aiming for another big win before fights that will define his career in 2024. He last competed in August, stopping Robert Helenious in the seventh round.
As an amateur, Joshua defeated Wallin twice; as a professional, their reunion will be more difficult to pull off.
The Swede only lost once in 27 fights, on points against Tyson Fury in 2019. However, after ‘All In’ damaged his face, the Gypsy King needed 47 stitches and plastic surgery.
