Fury vs Joshua Fight : Date, time, TV, live stream, odds

THE undisputed title decider between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has divided opinions across the UK and the world. Britain’s two heavyweight rulers have verbally agreed to a double header of fights in 2021.

IBF, WBO and WBA (Super) champion Joshua and WBC king Fury are set to collide in what will surely be the biggest fight in British boxing history this summer.

The bout will crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis, with Saudi Arabia and the Middle East the likely destinations in June.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn revealed in February there will still minor details being ironed out between the two camps – including whether the fight will be filled as Joshua vs Fury or Fury vs Joshua.

Anthony Joshua v Tyson Fury Ticket 2021

Be the first to know about VIP tickets, ring side seats or hospitality to see the the biggest fight in British boxing history as Anthony Joshua takes on Tyson Fury.

Potential venues for the Fury v Joshua fight are being discussed now. The UK has staged some huge fights, and this will be the biggest of them all with Fury saying on Twitter “The biggest fight in British boxing history has just been agreed. Get in there my boy!”

Wembley Stadium, the Principality Stadium and Tottenham Hotspur will all probably want to stage this huge fight. The fight may also take place abroad, both fighters have recently fought in the USA and Joshua’s last fight was in Saudi Arabia.

Fury vs Joshua weights

Per boxing protocol, the weigh-in for Fury vs Joshua would take place the day before the fight itself.

Fury weighed in at 273lbs (19st 7lbs) for his last fight – that demolition of Deontay Wilder in their Las Vegas rematch in February 2020. More than a stone heavier than for their first meeting in December 2018.

Joshua meanwhile tipped the scales at 240lbs (17st 2lbs) for his knockout victory over Kubrat Pulev in London on December 12, 2020.

Tyson Fury

The WBC champ comes in top trumps following his devastating win over Deontay Wilder in 2020.

Undefeated Fury has battled back from the depths of depression and addiction to reach the summit once more and can cement his position as one of the best ever if he beats Joshua.

Anthony Joshua

AJ holds more heavyweight belts than Fury but his career is still recovering from that unforgettable shock defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019.

Joshua won them all back in December but admitted to having to overcome mental demons to do so.

Last time out, Joshua knocked out Kubrat Puelv in a mandatory defence.

After several talks and agreements, it seems, Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua is finally a done deal and fans can expect the heavyweight collision to happen soon with all the world titles at stake. We are still to receive an official date for the fight, but Matchroom Director, Eddie Hearn, seems ready to sign the papers.

The Matchroom kingpin Hearn believes IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs) will be too much for WBC belt holder Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) when they square off for their undisputed clash.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury

Joshua, who has bounced back from a stunning defeat against Andy Ruiz Jr to reclaim his belts and see off the challenge of Kubrat Pulev, will bring the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles to the fold.

Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum has now revealed that while terms have been agreed, there remains a small matter of which date the fight should take place from two possibilities.

Andy Ruiz Jr vs Chris Arreola: Height, Weight, Record, and Every Stat You Need to Know

Former unified heavyweight champion of the world, Andy Ruiz Jr. has been out of action for over 14 months since his defeat at the hands of Anthony Joshua. Now, ‘Destroyer’ will finally return to the ring on April 24. The speedy heavyweight will take on relatively low-profile veteran Chris Arreola on a PPV card.

The news broke out yesterday; however, there is no official announcement. Despite this, there will be a lot of eager eyes watching this fight. Therefore, what do we know about both these fighters? Joshua vs Fury Fight: Possible date revealed by AJ

Andy Ruiz Jr vs Chris Arreola

Andy Ruiz Jr vs Chris Arreola Fight Height and weight

Both pugilists have very different frames, but similar physical attributes. Ruiz Jr. stands at 6-foot 2-inches while possessing a reach of 74 inches. This is almost identical to his opponent Arreola, who comes in at 6-foot 3-inches and has a reach of 76-inches.

The weight of the fighters is difficult to estimate. Ruiz Jr. went into his last fight at a weight of 283 lbs. He faced lots of criticism and subsequently embarked on a body transformation under a new trainer, Eddie Reynoso. Hence, he may even come in lower than the 250 lbs mark on his return to the squared circle.

Arreola weighed in at 244 lbs in his last fight, which is almost 40 lbs less than his opponent’s previous bout. However, this has been a consistent weight for the American over his last few fights. Therefore, if Ruiz Jr. comes in below the 250 lbs mark, both fighters may also weigh-in at similar weights.

Andy Ruiz Jr to make ring return after 16-months out against Chris Arreola on shock PPV card after body transformation

The Mexican-American has not fought since December 2019, when he lost an immediate rematch against Anthony Joshua.

his comeback fight will come 16-months on from when his short spell as unified heavyweight champion came to an end.

And he is lined up to face Arreola, who turns 40 this week, the man who was knocked out by ex-WBC king Deontay Wilder in 2016.

The American has only fought three times since that defeat, with his current record standing at 38–6–1 with two no-contests.

Like Ruiz, Arreola has not been seen since December 2019, in a losing effort against Adam Kownacki.

But he has long been touted as Ruiz’s comeback opponent, with talks progressing for over a year.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: Possible date revealed by AJ

The heavyweight division looks set to be united as Anthony Joshua has claimed he will be fighting fellow Brit Tyson Fury in a unification bout in June of this year.

It looks set to be one of the biggest fights in British boxing history and something Joshua has alluded to as being “for the fans.”

The contest has been brewing for a while, with the pair having some choice words for their rival on social media over the past few weeks and months.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury

Fury maintained his undefeated record when he beat Deontay Wilder via TKO in Las Vegas to capture the WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles, while Joshua defeated Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev in December.

Joshua, who currently holds the WBA, IBF and WBO belts, sounds certain that the fight will take place.

This will be music to the ears of the Gypsy King, who feared that the fight wouldn’t go ahead due to the pandemic and AJ’s team.

Joshua Aiming for June

Despite Fury’s doubt for the fight taking place, Joshua has responded, hoping that the bout can be held in the summer.

Anthony Joshua on the latest negotiations to fight Tyson Fury

Otto Wallin has joined Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury as “elite heavyweights” and will make “scary” progress towards a world title fight, says promoter Dmitriy Salita.

The Swedish contender produced a career-best performance last weekend, sealing a dominant points win over Dominic Breazeale, who had only previously been beaten by Joshua and Deontay Wilder.

Wallin emerged with credit from his only setback, a battling points loss to Fury in September 2019, and Salita believes the 30-year-old is back in contention with the division’s best fighters.

aj fury

“Otto did a great job on Saturday night establishing himself as the top, elite heavyweight in the world,” Salita told Sky Sports.

“Otto is on the same level as Joshua and Fury. The scary part is that he keeps getting better.”

Joshua says he is ‘ready’ to finalise an undisputed world title fight against Fury in June, with a variety of countries still being considered to stage the blockbuster battle.

Otto versus the Joshua-Fury winner would be one of the biggest fights to make,” said Salita.

“We are going to keep Otto busy. He is on his way to a world title and mega heavyweight fights.”

The New York-based southpaw, who has previously sparred with Joshua, had recently told Sky Sports that he expects Fury to defeat his British rival.

“I think AJ versus Fury is the fight to be made. I wanna see it and the world wants to see it,” said Wallin.

Heavyweight kings Joshua and Fury are still in negotiations for £200million.

ANTHONY JOSHUA and Tyson Fury mega-fight could be shown on Sky Sports, BT Sport, ESPN AND DAZN on pay-per-view, Eddie Hearn said.

Heavyweight kings Joshua and Fury are still in negotiations for a Battle of Britain which could total £200million.

But a major sticking point is both their respected UK and US broadcasters, who will need to come together.

AJ, 31, has an exclusive deal with Sky and DAZN while Fury, 32, fights on BT and ESPN.

But promoter Hearn is confident the four platforms can strike a deal which would see the rights shared.

He said: “I don’t think it will be difficult. There’s a solution for everybody.

The two broadcast issues are DAZN and ESPN in America – AJ has a matching rights deal with DAZN and Fury has an exclusive deal with ESPN.

Gypsy King v Joshua

More recently, ESPN and FOX cross-promoted as Fury dethroned Deontay Wilder, 35, of the WBC crown.

And it has set a precedents to follow as the boxing world demands an undisputed title decider between the Gypsy King v Joshua.

But, DAZN is traditionally streaming service with a monthly payment, unlike the one-off PPV price.

It would make sharing rights more difficult, however, the subscription-based platform did launch a box office option for Canelo Alvarez’s last fight.

DAZN linked up with cable TV charging a PPV price of $69.99 for Canelo’s win over Callum Smith, which also included a four months subscription.

If the same can be done for Joshua and Fury alongside ESPN in the US, it overcomes another hurdle.

Mega Fight Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury: Sky Sports, BT Sport, ESPN and DAZN

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury could be broadcast by two different networks in both the UK and USA as organisers look to work out a compromise which ensures the fight gets over the line.

Representatives for both sides are currently continuing talks to try and finalise all aspects of a deal after agreeing financial terms several months ago.

aj fury sky

The latest subject in negotiations, according to Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn, is the TV broadcaster situation.

Hearn told reporters: “I don’t think it will be difficult. There’s a solution for everybody.

“The two broadcast issues are DAZN and ESPN in America – AJ has a matching rights deal with DAZN and Fury has an exclusive deal with ESPN.

“When you flip that in the UK, AJ has an exclusive deal with Sky and Fury has matching rights with BT.

“Is there a deal where all four of those parties can carry broadcast of the fight? Yeah, I believe there is.

Never before in British boxing history have two major PPV broadcasters worked together on a fight.

However, the precedent has been set in America with HBO and Showtime previously collaborating on the PPVs for Lennox Lewis vs Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao.

AJ vs Fury could be the first fight to have dual broadcasters on both sides of the pond.

Boxing: Anthony Joshua will knock Tyson Fury out ‘inside six rounds’

Former world champion Tony Bellew has backed Anthony Joshua to knock Tyson Fury out inside six rounds if the pair meet in their much-anticipated heavyweight clash later this year.

The two Brits both picked up solitary victories in 2020, with Joshua knocking out Kubrat Pulev in December after Fury had stopped Deontay Wilder earlier in the year.

Anthony Joshua

Many viewed Fury’s win as the more impressive of the two, leading to him currently being considered the slight favourite with the bookmakers.

Bellew sees things differently, though. He points out that Fury has been knocked down before, and he believes that Joshua will be more ruthless in finishing their match-up than Fury’s past opponents.

Speaking to IFL TV, he said: “AJ will get his opportunity [against Fury], and he will land, and he will hurt him. He’s got the speed and the technical ability to carry on and go with it.

“There have been numerous fighters that have dropped Fury over the years, like Steve Cunningham.

Gypsy King has ‘unbeatable’ knock out plan for AJ fight

We finally appear to be edging closer to the long-awaited clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, with promoter Eddie Hearn – who represents Joshua – declaring the fight a ‘done deal’ earlier this week.

No date or location has yet been revealed for the world heavyweight championship unification clash, but when the pair do meet, a former sparring partner of Floyd Mayweather has tipped Fury to finish Joshua inside the distance.

Dmitry Salita, who is probably most remembered during his own career for a 76-second defeat at the hands of Amir Khan in December 2009, believes that Fury’s training set-up will prove key in the outcome of the fight.

Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury ‘unbeatable’ fight

Fury raised more than a few eyebrows when he parted ways with his former trainer Ben Davison prior to his rematch with Deontay Wilder last year.

Davison was the man that Fury credited for helping him confront depression and shed over nine stone in preparation for his comeback to the ring in June 2018.

Davison had also cornered Fury in every fight since that comeback. However, ‘The Gypsy King’ opted to replace Davison with trainer SugarHill Steward from the legendary Kronk Gym in Detroit.

Salita believes that this switch will prove crucial in helping Fury become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

The seventh-round TKO victory saw Fury claim the WBC heavyweight championship, setting his firmly on a collision course with IBF, WBA and WBO titleholder Joshua.

As great as Fury was on that night last February in Las Vegas, Salita believes that he will only get better the more he works with Steward . Fury vs AJ Fight

This is edging ever closer to becoming a reality.

“And then I will circulate it to Frank [Warren], to Tyson and to the various lawyers.

Legendary boxing promoter Frank Warren has said he is confident that the heavyweight clash will happen this year in either May or June.

However, Warren has also warned that the bout may not take place in the UK, despite the pair both being British. This is because of the current coronavirus pandemic strongly affecting the UK.

The highly-anticipated fight that fans all over the world having been pining for is increasing in certainty, and with the new developments of Oleksandr Usyk being contacted for a reported fight with Britain’s Joe Joyce, it is more likely than ever.

Now, the Ukrainian looking towards Joyce, this can set up the heavyweight unification bout between arguably the two best heavyweights in the division.

The unification bout would be the first since back in 1999, when legends Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis went toe-to-toe between the ropes.

“That is what the agenda of everybody who is concerned is and we will do all we have got between us all to make sure it happens”.
